While specifically targeted to business aviation pilots, the new guide from the National Business Aviation Association has a lot of useful information for all general aviation pilots.
The Steve Brown Leadership Scholarship was created to support students interested in a career in business aviation who are currently enrolled in programs to achieve this goal. Two $1,500 scholarships will be given out annually.
“The business aviation industry is greatly benefitting from a wave of first-time users and buyers due in part to changing habits brought on by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Honeywell officials. “We expect high levels of demand and expenditures for new aircraft for several more years.”
Since 2017, the FAA has recorded more than 1,300 incidents of an aircraft landing on the wrong runway, a taxiway, or at the wrong airport. More than 80% of those incidents involved general aviation aircraft, FAA officials report. Wrong surface departures are also a significant concern, with more than 275 incidents recorded over the past five years — 83% involving GA aircraft.
Started by business aviation industry veteran Dave Coleman, the boutique aircraft transaction firm provides technical, regulatory and financial advisory services to those looking to buy an airplane.
“Despite the ongoing challenges presented by the pandemic, flight hours have recovered and grown beyond pre-pandemic levels. The overall health of the business jet market is strong, and growth is expected to continue.”
The map now has nearly 20 locations where the fuel is available, with 4AIR officials noting it will be “continuously updated as new locations are verified or new announcements are made.”
This year’s edition of the Fact Book also highlights the emphasis business aviation has had on sustainability, association officials note. Over the past four decades, business aviation has achieved a 40% reduction in carbon emissions, officials add.
The International Aircraft Dealers Association (IADA) is accepting applications from students for business aviation scholarships through Sept. 1, 2021. Grants funded by the IADA Foundation range from $1,000 to $5,000.
