Fire danger closes Ryan Field

Due to extreme fire danger in and around Ryan Field (2MT1) in Montana, the Recreational Aviation Foundation (RAF) has temporarily closed the field to all activity. “We will keep you informed when we will be able to reopen the airstrip,” officials noted. “In the meantime, thank you for understanding and complying with this closure.”

Ben Ryan flies West

Ben William Ryan, the creator of Ryan Field in Montana, passed away July 26, 2017, at the Montana Veteran’s Home in Columbia Falls. He was 94.
