Can someone please help? I know of a crashed American DC-3 in the jungles of New Guinea and wish to know where we might find the plate with the manufacturer’s details and the aircraft serial number.
If we know the aircraft number we hope to trace the crew and its family members in the USA.
I did retrieve one part that looks like a battery lead. This was on it: No: 411608 serial number 687; Date: blank.
