If you are old enough to remember James Bond (aka Roger Moore) flying a BD5 jet through a hangar sideways in “Octopussy,” then you are already familiar with the work of “Corkey” Fornof, stunt pilot, aerial coordinator and director.
Fornof will fly the LoPresti Fury at the 2009 Grace Flight Air Show Oct. 3 at the North Texas Regional Airport in Sherman, Texas. Admission to the event is $10 for Adults and $5 for children 12-17. Children under 12 are admitted free. The gates open at 8:30 a.m., with the airshow beginning at noon.
The mission of Grace Flight of America is to help people in need of free air transportation for medical and humanitarian purposes. Grace Flight of America relies completely on volunteer pilots and donations from individuals, foundations, clubs and corporations.
Fornof’s list of feature movie stunts includes Harrison Ford’s “6 Days/7 Nights,” John Travolta’s “Face Off,” Tom Cruise’s “Mission Impossible II,” Steven Spielberg’s “Jurassic Park” and Robert Redford and Demi Moore’s “Indecent Proposal.” He is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, the Motion Picture Pilots Association, and holds a current Motion Picture/Television Flight Operations Manual for the FAA. He’s been in more than 100 commercials.
For the past year, Fornof has been touring the country with the LoPresti Fury, dubbed a “winged Ferrari-like sportster.”
