Naval Aviation’s Top 10 contest kicks off

By Janice Wood · February 15, 2011 ·

In celebration of the United States Centennial of Naval Aviation, LiveAirShowTV seeks your nominations for the “Top 10” greatest moments, events, or personalities in Naval Aviation history.

Your nomination could be a battle, a “first”, a person, a plane, or even the space program. It only has to have a connection to the Navy, Marine Corps or Coast Guard’s aviation history.

LiveAirShowTV will produce videos of the “Top 10” selections. Each video in the countdown will have its world premiere beginning Saturday, Sept. 10. The video countdown will continue each week until the #1 video is revealed in conjunction with the Pensacola NAS Air Show the week of Nov. 7.

To submit your “Top 10” nomination, in 25 words or less, go to LiveAirShowTV.com and click on “Contact” to complete your submission. The deadline is April 30.

Based on your submissions, along with those from the experts at the Centennial of Naval Aviation (CONA) and the staff of LiveAirShowTV, a “Top 25” list will be announced and posted on May 21. Fans will then have until July 1 to vote, at LiveAirShowTV.com, to determine “Naval Aviation’s Top 10.” Final results will be determined by the public vote, CONA, and LiveAirShowTV.

One on-line participant, selected at random, will receive a special one-of-a-kind Grand Prize to be announced during the nomination process. Additional runner-up prizes will be added as well.
