LAKELAND, Fla. — In honor of National Aviation Day today, Aug. 19, SUN ‘n FUN is offering free admission to Aerospace Discovery at the Florida Air Museum.
Aerospace Discovery at the Florida Air Museum, the official aviation and education museum of the state of Florida, is the main hub of several aviation learning centers on the SUN ‘n FUN Convention Campus on the Lakeland-Linder Regional Airport (KLAL).

Along with historic displays around the facility, such as Howard Hughes’ personal aviation collection and the Innovations in Propulsion exhibit, interactive learning stations challenge students of all ages to accomplish tasks while competing for the highest scores. Simulators offer the in-flight experience that often leads to enrollment in future flight training.
“Aviation is one of the single most important industries we have, because it affects just about every other industry in some fashion, “ said SUN ‘n FUN President and CEO John R. “Lites” Leenhouts. “As we’re reminded about the lasting impacts our industry has had, as well as those to come if we don’t continue to infuse more talented individuals into the industry, we feel like this is a great opportunity to open our doors at no charge for this day and give young people a chance to experience the excitement! We want to continue to inspire, and this gives us a great opportunity to do that.”

Today is also the start to have the propulsion of aviation redesigned. Captain Ben Cappelle ceo and test pilot of Clean Tech Aviation has partnered with 4 universities and the NLR to build a LNG and hybrid electric solution for all existing GA and BA aircrafts in the world. Captain Cappelle is available to share the making of this revolution in aviation and assist our younger generation to achieve a green technical and operational career in emission free aviation
