FAA workshop helps prepare general aviation pilots to return to the skies in spring

By General Aviation News Staff · April 3, 2023 ·

The FAA held a Spring workshop for general aviation pilots March 22, 2023, to help the GA community “get prepared to take to the skies after spending time away from the flight deck.”

A recording of the workshop is now available on YouTube. Clocking in at close to three hours, the workshop covers a gamut of concerns for GA pilots, from preflight planning to runway safety, night-time operations, preparing for weather challenges, markings, signage and lighting, and more.

Making appearances during the workshop, which is led by the FAA’s Jamal Wilson, are FAA Acting Administrator Billy Nolen, general aviation industry representatives, pilots, air traffic controllers, meteorologists, and others.

I just watched the “From the flight deck live, a GA workshop, spring 2023” video. Outstanding, your presentation was spot on, the presenters were excellent and the material covered pertinent subjects that all pilots should take advantage of to refresh their skills. As pilots, recurrent training can be mundane, but your mix of videos, slides and subject matter expert commentary was refreshing. As a current pilot approaching nearly 50 years of flying (both GA and former career military pilot) thanks for publishing this, it benefits all of us.
