U.S. aviation fuel prices moved higher again in August, with slight gains across both 100LL and Jet A nationwide, according to the latest figures from iFlightPlanner.
National 100LL prices moved higher in August, averaging $7.54 for full service, an increase of $0.03 (0.4%) compared to July. The price of 100LL Self Service averaged $6.84, up $0.38 (5.8%). This reflects an approximately 9% savings where self-serve options are available, down from approximately 14% in July, according to iFlightPlanner officials.
The average price of full service Jet A was $7.97 in August, representing an increase of $0.17 (2.1%) compared to July. Excluding Alaska and Hawaii, Lower-48 Jet A Full Service price averaged $7.90, up $0.18 (2.3%) compared to July.
UL94 Self Service averaged $7.48, down $0.02 (-0.3%) in August, while mogas averaged $5.58, up $0.04 (0.8%), with both fuels continuing to show limited and highly regional availability nationwide.
100LL Full Service also increased across most Lower-48 regions, while 100LL Self Service rose across all Lower-48 regions, led by New England and the Southern states, both up 1.6%.
Regional Jet A Full Service pricing increased across all Lower-48 regions in August, led by the Central region at $7.53, up $0.25 (3.5%).

- Southwest: 100LL Full Service averaged $7.25, up $0.04 (0.6%), while 100LL Self Service averaged $6.14, up $0.05 (0.9%). Jet A Full Service averaged $7.57, an increase of $0.21 (2.8%).
- Southern: 100LL Full Service averaged $7.46, up $0.03 (0.4%), while 100LL Self Service averaged $6.41, up $0.10 (1.6%). Jet A Full Service averaged $8.05, up $0.20 (2.6%).
Six-Month Fuel Price Trend Overview
Over the past six months, national aviation fuel prices remained elevated after rising sharply in the spring.
National Jet A Full Service increased from $7.64 in March 2026 to $7.97 in August 2026, an increase of $0.33 (4.3%), while national 100LL Full Service rose from $6.80 to $7.54, an increase of $0.74 (10.9%). Prices for both fuel types climbed through May, eased in June, and then moved higher again in July and August.
Jet A Full Service closed August below its six-month high of $8.07 in May, while 100LL Full Service reached $7.54, setting a new high for the six-month reporting period.
