Glenn Robbins, an aviation technician with Pro Star Aviation, received the FAA Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award recognizing 50 years of service in aviation maintenance, according to company officials.
Robbins received the award in June 2026 as he prepared to retire following 17 years with the company.
Named for Charles E. Taylor, who designed and built the engine for the Wright brothers’ first powered flight, the award recognizes maintenance professionals who have dedicated at least 50 years to the aviation industry.
Robbins began his career in the U.S. Navy as a hydraulic structural technician before earning his Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate from East Coast Aero Tech in 1981. Over his career, he performed commercial and business aviation maintenance on aircraft including the Douglas DC-3, Boeing 737, Boeing 757, Airbus A320 family, and Bombardier Challenger. Robbins spent more than 20 years with U.S. Airways serving as a lead technician and safety committee member before becoming director of maintenance at Great Bay Aviation and later joining Pro Star Aviation in 2009.
“Receiving the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award is an incredible accomplishment, and it reflects the tireless dedication Glenn has shown throughout his career,” said Jeff Shaw, director of sales and marketing at Pro Star Aviation. “We are proud to have had Glenn as part of the Pro Star team for the past 17 years and grateful for the knowledge and experience he brought to our organization and our customers.”
