The Ray Foundation has donated $300,000 to the University of North Dakota Aerospace Foundation to fund private pilot training for 25 veterans, with the intent the veterans will pursue careers in aviation.

Building a better mouse trap
The EZ-UP Inspection Cover Kit, a new and improved inspection cover for fabric-covered aircraft, was developed by Marty Harris, who developed it after “40 years of fighting traditional riveted covers in six of my fabric airplanes.” He’s given the design rights to EAA Chapter 534 in Leesburg, Florida, with all proceeds from the kit sales going to the chapter’s youth aviation program.
New owner for Sonex
Long-time employee Mark Schaible takes over the company and will continue operations, while focusing on new products for the Oshkosh-based kit manufacturer.
PK Floats introduced for Super Legend Cubs
New amphibious and straight floats are now available for American Legend Aircraft Co.’s Super Legend. The new floats, manufactured by PK Floats, can be fitted to high performance Titan-powered Legend Cubs, according to company officials.

FAA Airplane Flying Handbook adds aircraft energy management for first time

New aircraft leasing company specializes in flight schools
Officials with the new company, which has purchased a fleet of 2022 and 2023 Cessna 172 Skyhawks, Piper Archer TXs, and Piper Seminoles, say they are “focused on supporting flight school fleet development around the country.”
