Pilot crashes after seat slides back during takeoff
The pilot’s failure to properly secure the seat before takeoff, which resulted in it sliding back during takeoff and rendering him unable to reach the rudder pedals and throttle lever, a subsequent runway excursion, ground loop, and impact with a berm.

The hotel is a short distance from the grass strip and you have to taxi down one of the city streets to reach parking just off of main street. The Red Beech 18 seen in the background was once owned by Barry Seal.”
Antique airplanes take flight to save airports
It’s more than just a flying adventure when members of the Puget Sound Antique Airplane Club take off on their annual summer air tour. “Our purpose is to save airports,” says member Keith Littlefield. They do that by inviting the public to general aviation airports to see the vintage aircraft up close and personal.
Aviation-themed Little Free Library planned at KPDK
The free library, where people can take a book or leave a book, will be modeled after KPDK’s iconic World War II hangar, once home to Navy airplanes, and now in use by EPPS Aviation.
Radio sim updated
The PlaneEnglish Aviation Radio Simulator (ARSim) has been updated with a new TRAINER mode that offers a progressive radio communications training curriculum with “Stage Checks” that unlock more complex levels of training and gives users the chance to earn an Aviation Comms Wings badge for completing all the modules.
