When the paperwork equals the weight of the aircraft
Here’s the good news. The FAA has extended the life of aircraft registrations to seven years, more than double the previous term of three years. Here’s the not so good news. There is no requirement for the FAA to mail out new documentation that actually shows those extended expiration dates.
First flight: Electric Sky Jeep
A firm based at Old Buckenham Airfield in Norfolk, England, has been working on the electric Sky Jeep, which is based on a Zenith CH-750, for the past three years.

Founded in late 2022, the new association was created “to focus exclusively on the interests of professional flight training organizations based in the United States,” according to officials.

Through a new agreement, Avemco customers will receive a 20% discount on annual subscriptions to Redbird’s personalized proficiency training app, Redbird Pro, as well as discounts on their insurance premiums.

I suggest more information to general aviation pilots about making radio calls and listening to the CTAF frequency when near an airport to gain situational awareness about what is going on.

2022 in review: How did LSA fare during a turbulent year?
Despite a year of war, of plunging stock markets, and sky-high energy prices, of protests and riots in multiple countries, plus ongoing supply chain strains and lingering COVID fears, the LSA market grew by a healthy 18% in 2022, after rising 10% in 2021. The industry is now performing better than in 2019, the last year of relative sanity before COVID lockdowns.
Pulitzer Electric Aircraft Race postponed
Economic conditions and “a strong priority by the aircraft manufacturers on product development and certification hampered” the National Aeronautic Association’s ability to secure the necessary sponsorships to hold the race in 2023, according to NAA officials.
