Fuel problems lead to forced landing in a field

Returning from a camping trip, while descending over mountains east of ZZZ near ZZZ1 the fuel low level light came on in my homebuilt. I checked the fuel and the sight gauge on the right tank showed half full indicating at least 6.5 gallons of fuel. The left tank sight gauge showed empty.

Snow doesn’t stop volunteers from cleaning up WI23

Pilot forced to land on dirt road when he doesn’t know how to turn on airport lights

The pilot’s poor preflight planning, during which he failed to verify the proper procedure to activate the runway lights; his inability to locate the airport without lighting; and the airplane’s subsequent low-fuel state as he circled looking for the airport, which necessitated a precautionary off-airport landing, during which the nose landing gear separated.

2022 promises to be a good year for general aviation

While challenges abound for general aviation in 2022, including increasing pressure to ban 100LL, supply chain issues, inflation, and the increasing demand for pilots, mechanics, and other employees, there’s also a lot of opportunity. Demand is high for general aviation aircraft and careers in the industry have never looked better.
