Starting in 2024, the Caravan and Grand Caravan EX, will offer the Garmin G1000 NXi, according to company officials. Avionics that will become standard include the GDL 60 datalink, the GTX 345DR diversity transponder, and the GI 275 electronic standby.

Wipaire gets FAA nod for change to Caravans with floats

“We did this flight manual supplement to align the Outside Ambient Temperature (OAT) flight and ground limit for a floated Caravan with that of a wheeled Caravan,” explains Brad Kutz, vice president of engineering for Wipaire. “Prior to this, the ground OAT was limited to 42C (107.6F). Now, it has been raised to 47C (116.6F).”

Milestone reached for new EPIC Caravan

Raisbeck Engineering reports it has successfully completed its pre-certification flight tests for its new Supplemental Type Certificate (STC) program for the EPIC Caravan, a drag reduction system designed for the Cessna Caravan 208B.

Airforms wins FAA nod for replacement ladders for Caravans

The Airforms replacement covers the crew ladders for the pilot’s and co-pilot’s sides for most Cessna Caravan C208 and C208B/EX models. The ladders are produced with bushing material in the upper and lower arm assemblies to eliminate galvanic corrosion issues, according to company officials.

Supervan STC approved allowing choice of propeller

Both the composite and aluminum propellers were designed specifically for the Honeywell 950 shaft horsepower TPE331 engines by Hartzell’s engineering team for the Supervan-modified 208 and 208B Caravans. The result is a “true 200+ knot airplane, with a 40% reduction in takeoff roll and a substantially greater rate of climb,” according to company officials.
