“Is it that hard to build a new airport or is it just hard to make a business case for it? The US built airports very rapidly for many decades because it needed them, does it need many new ones now?”
Touch & Go
Explain it to me like I’m 10
This is a great way to explain the force of gravity. Most of us, kids included, can relate to being weighed. Personally, I wish I had a bit less force on the scale.
It wasn’t there first
Arrowhead Airpark offers a great example why we should stop responding to airport complaints with: “But the airport was there first.” Because in this case, it wasn’t there first.
The airport of the future
Instead of spending energy, time, and money playing defense, we could play with airplanes. And that sounds like a lot more fun.
A decent start
It would be great to report no aircraft accidents, ever. But the only absolute way to accomplish that is to never leave the ground.
Owning > Zoning
Flight instructors teach aspiring pilots to “stay ahead of the airplane.” Do we do that when it comes to airports? Do we stay ahead of the airport or are we playing catch-up?
Pay attention
I can’t imagine why the city would want to annex the land if development wasn’t the ultimate plan.

It is amazing what can happen when there is a desire to make something happen.
