Royal Adhesives and Sealants LLC’s Hardman WS8020 line of manganese dioxide cured polysulfide aircraft sealants have been fully qualified to AMS 8802 and AMS 3276 aircraft fuel tank sealant specifications.
The sealants are manufactured at the company’s Wilmington, Calif., facility, which has been certified to the AS 9100, ISO 9001/2000 and AS7200/1 NADCAP quality systems requirements and sold to aerospace and defense customers that require qualified sealants for fuel tank and environmental sealing applications.
The sealants have outstanding resistance to aviation gasoline and jet fuel, as well as resistance to chemicals and petroleum products common to the aircraft industry, according to company officials. The sealants also offer flexibility and bond strength to most metal substrates like aluminum, stainless steel, steel, advanced composites and many coatings under extremes of temperature, weathering and stress.
