The Battles of the Coral Sea and Midway Island will be featured in a June 6 program at Planes of Fame in Chino, Calif.
The museum’s Douglas SBD-5 Dauntless (pictured) will be in action over the Chino Airport during the event, which will feature eyewitness accounts facilitated by a panel of experts, including Ronald Russell, author of “No Right to Win: a Dialogue with Veterans of the Battle of Midway” and editor of The Battle of Midway Roundtable; Bud Vietor, a Naval Air Transport Service pilot in the Pacific; and Frank Mormillo, the Planes of Fame Air Museum historian.
The speaker presentation begins at 10 a.m., while the SBD Dauntless flight demonstration is at noon.
