The Seaplane Pilots Association has a slate of new officers. Board of Directors Chairman Henry Hinman retired from the board to focus his attention on the Seaplane Pilots Foundation, which he was instrumental in founding two years ago. Other outgoing officers are Telford Allen, president, and Lyle Panepinto, secretary.
Newly elected officers are: Walter B. Windus, chairman; Jay J. Frey, president; Randy Juen, vice president; Jon Ericksson, secretary, and Gordon Richardson, treasurer.
Windus has been involved with aviation and seaplanes for more than 40 years, most recently as vice president and field director in California, Utah, Nevada and Arizona for the Seaplane Pilots Association. Prior to that, he served as chairman of the Santa Clara County Airport Land Use Commission, president and general manager of the Frazier Lake Airpark Corp., president and general manager of Skyview/Phoenix Flying Club, Inc. at San Jose International Airport, and president of the Santa Clara County Airmen’s Association.
Frey, past vice president of Edo Floats, is well known in the seaplane community. Juen is currently a member of the senior leadership team at Wipaire Floats. Ericksson is the owner of Ericksson Aviation and Richardson is the owner of Gordon B. Richardson Insurance Associates.
The Seaplane Pilots Association, founded in 1972, is a worldwide non-profit membership organization dedicated to representing the interests of seaplane enthusiasts at the federal, state, and local levels. For more information: Seaplanes.org
