Women in Aviation International has received a $7,500 grant from the International Society of Transport Aircraft Training (ISTAT) Foundation.
The ISTAT Foundation was founded in 1994 to provide funds for scholarships, educational programs, and grants to individuals and institutions that promote the advancement of commercial aviation and humanitarianism.
The grant will be used to provide teaching materials for Girls in Aviation Day, an annual international outreach program planned for Saturday, Sept. 24, 2016, according to WAI officials.
That day, WAI’s nearly 100 chapters around the world will provide learning opportunities and conduct hands-on aviation activities to introduce girls, ages 8 to 16, to the aviation lifestyle, as well as to the career possibilities in aviation and aerospace.
