Garmin has added new features to the Garmin Pilot app for iPad or iPhone.
The new enhancements include a graphical weight & balance feature that displays a detailed view of the aircraft layout. This allows the pilot to visualize where the weight is located, enabling easier adjustments to ensure they are within the limits of the aircraft. Frequent passengers and cargo can be saved as favorites, Garmin officials said, adding the app still includes the traditional moment/arm charts.
The newest release of Garmin Pilot, version 11.0, is available now. For new customers, the app is available in the Apple App Store as a free download for the first 30 days. After the 30-day trial period, customers can purchase an annual subscription starting at $99.99. Graphical Weight & Balance requires a Garmin Pilot Premium Add-on subscription, Garmin officials noted. The existing weight & balance feature with traditional moment/arm chart remains available with the standard subscription.
This is a novelty app …….. for those among us who have an endless budget for toys it will be attractive, but it seems to not add real value.
