Top 10 Best-Selling Piston Airplanes in 2025

By Janice Wood · March 11, 2026 · Leave a Comment

Cirrus once again dominated piston airplane sales in 2025, with the SR22T topping the list of best-selling airplanes.

Combined, the SR series — SR20, SR22, and SR22T — accounted for 691 deliveries in 2025.

Other observations from the 2025 Year-End General Aviation Aircraft Shipment and Billing Report from the General Aviation Manufacturers Association:

  • While sales were flat or slightly higher in the various categories, billings hit a record-setting $35.7 billion — the highest ever recorded in the history of the report, according to GAMA officials.
  • High delivery numbers for the Cessna 172S and Piper Archer highlight the continued demand from flight schools.
  • North America remains the largest market for piston aircraft, accounting for 72.6% of all deliveries.
