The 12 Planes of Christmas
Each year, 12 aircraft from the Commemorative Air Force’s fleet are selected to be featured during the “12 Planes of Christmas” fundraising campaign. The airplanes selected for 2022 come from 12 different CAF units in eight states.
$13,000+ in scholarships awarded at Fly-ND Conference
During the conference, held Oct. 6 at the Fargo Air Museum, officials presented scholarships to 11 high school juniors, seniors, and recent GED recipients who plan to pursue advanced education in aviation.

Dean Carrell submitted this photo and note: “My 1982 Arctic Tern in the winter. The Terns were made in Alaska from 1975 to 1985 with only 30 built. They are a souped-up version of the Interstate, made to compete with Super Cubs. About a dozen are still flying. Mine has been in Wyoming its entire life.”
Avionics sales continue to climb
The third-quarter Avionics Market Report shows that third-quarter sales increased 4.6% from the second quarter of 2022, marking the ninth consecutive quarter of increasing sales.
USDA to update Wildlife Services fleet with CubCrafters XCub
The aircraft manufactured under the new contract will be the first certified XCubs in service with the US government, and will be primarily used for natural resources management. Delivery of the first two aircraft in the multiyear contract is scheduled for the late summer of 2023.
