I suppose it is theoretically possible to navigate the airspace without talking to anyone on the radio, but why would I put myself under that kind of stress and strain when I can simply dial in a frequency, wait my turn, then ask for someone at ATC to hold my hand and guide me through this mass of blue lines and altitude restrictions listed on the sectional chart?
A tale of new scissors
An 800 nautical mile trek home without a complete flight bag is a no go, so Jamie goes in search of some essential items.
The only thing to fear…
Fear is often what keeps many people from making that initial visit to the airport where there is a flight school. The erroneous belief that flying is dangerous keeps more than 99% of us grounded.
It’s all about boundaries
Fences around airports mean that the average Joe or Jane not only feel as if they are barred from entry on to the airport, they literally are.
Everybody has a story
Everybody has a story. Write yours. If not for the wider world, at least to inform future generations of your own family about who you were and what you did while you were here.
From inspiration to inertia

Make Englaero official – finally
Englaero is English spoken by an individual who mixes a thick dose of aeronautical terms into their vocabulary. To a native English speaker, it’s absolute gibberish. To a college level English teacher with no aeronautical background, it’s incomprehensible.
A deeply flawed but wonderful place to work
A dilapidated hangar is the almost magical destination a few dozen teenagers consider to be their home inside the airport fence. It’s where skills are learned, pride is developed, and the path to a better, brighter, more affluent future is glimpsed for the first time by kids who have never had an outlet for their aeronautical dreams.
Gender based bias is myopic — or worse
Beyond all logic and reason there remains a group of nitwits who disparage female pilots because…now, brace yourself for this logic…they’re women.
