GA volunteers get to work at 1U1

When the president of the Recreational Aviation Foundation learned that there was a volunteer opportunity that he and his fellow pilots were uniquely suited to help with at the Moose Creek USFS Airport (1U1) in Idaho, he jumped at the opportunity, according to officials with the U.S. Forest Service.

UCA Aviation Academy ready to take flight at KCXW

The University of Central Arkansas, in partnership with the city of Conway, Arkansas, and Conway Regional Airport (KCXW), will open the new UCA Aviation Academy in the spring of 2024. The program will be open to anyone 17 or older, whether they are a student at the university or not.

NTSB summit focuses on pilot mental health

“Everyone should feel safe speaking up, getting the mental health care they need, regardless of their profession. Aviation should be no different, and yet it is different,” said NTSB Chair Jennifer Homendy. “Current federal rules incentivize people to either lie about their needs or avoid seeking help in the first place — and that’s not safe for anyone.”
