Students were able to experience the thrill of flight, most of them flying for the first time. Students also had the opportunity receive mentoring advice from military and commercial airline pilots on hand.

The acrid smell of an electrical fire was evident even though I didn’t see any flames.

William Hunt submitted this photo and note: “The Imperial War Museum at Duxford, England, has many artifacts that are displayed as found. Notable is the tail of a German aircraft with a pair of holes in the middle of the swastika. If you looks closely, the holes are square rather than round. The museum says that they were made by a pickaxe rather than a gun. To paraphrase a favorite movie: “This wasn’t business. This was personal.”

Zachary attended the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, with his friend Drew Wilson. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economics. He earned his commission as an Ensign in the U.S. Navy in 2012 and a Master of Science in Finance from the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School.

When a loud cracking noise is a good thing…
My student forced the nose trim wheel downwards to get some nose up trim action and we heard a loud snapping or cracking noise. After the noise, the trim wheel operated normally.
