The Experimental Aircraft Association has formed a team to explore ways of improving aviation safety by focusing on responses to the often-tragic 180° turn back to the runway following engine failure on takeoff — often call the Impossible Turn by pilots.

Master takeoffs and landings with free course
The free course includes 10 real-world lessons during five hours of online training from preflight preparation to proper maneuver execution. Pilots learn about stabilized approach, crosswinds and slips, short-field takeoff and landing, night operations, abnormal or emergency considerations, and more, according to company officials.
FAA Airplane Flying Handbook updated
The handbook, which provides information and guidance on the procedures and maneuvers required for pilot certification, was last updated in 2016.

The new flight training center at Arlington Municipal Airport will be ATP Flight School’s largest in Texas.

Piper M600 sim gets FAA nod
The M600/SLS simulator has an actual M600 fuselage, pilot seating, sub panels, switching and flight controls, and a multi-channel projection system with wrap around visuals. It also features M600 type specific Garmin G3000 avionics with Piper’s HALO safety system, inflight stability protection, level mode, and auto throttle system.
