Cirrus reclaims the top spot in the 10 best selling piston airplanes in 2021 with its SR22T. It actually captured three of the top 10 spots. Others among the top 10 include Cessna, Piper, Diamond, and more.

First flight: Tecnam hybrid P2010

According to Tecnam officials, the P2010 H3PS is the first general aviation aircraft with a parallel hybrid configuration to take flight. The four-seat aircraft is powered by a 104kW Rotax 915 IS engine coupled with a 30kW Rolls-Royce electric motor, equating to a 180-hp powertrain.

Tecnam P2010 powers up

The European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) had validated a major enhancement to the Tecnam P2010 four-seater general aviation aircraft, approving the Lycoming IO390-C3B6 215-hp engine.
