WACO, Texas — The Heart Of Texas Airshow will take to the skies Saturday, Sept. 27, at Texas State Technical College airport.
Serving as air show marshal will be Major General Kenneth Wisian, the Deputy Adjutant General-Air for Texas and Commander of the Texas Air National Guard.
Wisian is the principle advisor to the Adjutant General for all Air National Guard issues and responsible for formulating, developing and coordinating all programs, policies and plans for the Texas Air National Guard.
Wisian received his commission as a Distinguished Graduate of AFROTC and graduated from The University of Texas at Austin in 1982. He is a graduate of the US Air Force Test Pilot School and the US Army War College.
He is a Master Navigator with over 3800 hours, primarily in the RC-26B, B-52G, C-130H, MC-130H, AC-130U, and has combat time in the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq.
The airshow will honor the military, said Heart Of Texas Airshow President Debby Standefer.
“We are very exited to return to Texas State Technical College and their airport, previously known as James Connally AFB, and to show off the TSTC state of the art Aviation and Aerospace Division (they have a champion flight team of their own) as well as many of the departments and programs TSTC offers,” she said. “Baylor University Aviation Sciences will also be on hand and has signed its second year of sponsorship in the HOT Airshow. Waco is strongly focused on aviation with its own Aviation Business Alliance. Many of these businesses will be participating in the event and we are proud to be able to bring attention to, and support, aviation in Waco.”
Performers include Randy Ball and his MiG-17 jet, the Trojan Phlyers Demo Team, Justin Lewis and his FLS Microjet, the nine-ship Falcon Flight formation team, Kate Kyer, Andrew Wright, Chet Kuhn, Curt Richmond, and many warbird performers, she noted.
