DAYTON, Ohio — Warbird Aviation Art is now available at Bunker 27, a retail chain that just opened its first mall location at the Fairfield Commons Mall in Beaver Creek, Ohio, near Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.
Bunker 27 also has locations at six other military bases.

Warbird Aviation Art, started in the mid-1990s by Ron Kaplan, includes limited edition artwork of actual aircraft scrap autographed by notable military aviators, with the addition of a hand-painted nose-art or insignia on each, mounted in custom shadow box frames. The company also sells hand-painted flight jackets, original paintings, World War II insignia coaster sets, and more.

Among the limited edition pieces available at the mall location include those signed by legendary U.S. fighter aces Robin Olds and Bud Anderson, Medal of Honor recipient and B-17 pilot William Lawley, and a Boeing B-29 Superfortress engine cowl flap signed by Women Airforce Service Pilot legend Dora Dougherty Strother, above which Kaplan has painted the WASP’s iconic “Fifinella” emblem.
