This Saturday I got to ride along with my daughter, Hannah, who just turned 4 last month, on her first airplane ride. It was a very special flight as it was in Helio Courier s/n 001, N242B, made in 1954. I flew in this airplane from 1998-2004 as a volunteer with JAARS to various airshows, including Oshkosh. N242B’s owner flew from Texas to JAARS in North Carolina to attend a private fly-in and to give Hannah her first airplane ride. Hannah’s comment when we rose above the trees was, “Wow! I can see EVERYTHING!” Here’s to many more years of flying for Hannah.”
5G launch delayed as impact on aviation safety assessed

Pilots Without Pants returns for 2022
The 2022 Pilots Without Pants calendar features pilots from the Antique Airplane Club of Greater New York posing “nude” with their airplanes. It’s all in good fun for a good cause: Raising money for a scholarship fund to help a low-income student become a pilot.
‘Because words matter’
A virtual summit slated for Nov. 10, 2021, will provide a platform for the public to comment and provide additional recommendations to the FAA as it develops an “enterprise-wide initiative to adopt language that is both gender-neutral and inclusive.”
Applications open for $1 million in scholarships
