Looks like an egg, flies like a rocket

Richard Hodge, the force behind the YouTube channel Aircraft Adventures, which is for “those who tirelessly dig for the obscure, quaint, or downright bizarre in the aviation world,” recently posted a video about the tiny egg-shaped Questair Venture, designed by Jim Griswold, who designed the Piper Malibu and worked with Cirrus in later years.

Aerium, a non-profit organization focusing on aviation education, workforce development, and creating career opportunities for students in Pennsylvania, is now collaborating with the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association to introduce the AOPA high school STEM curriculum into school districts, Career and Technical Centers (CTCs), secondary, and post-secondary institutions across the state of Pennsylvania.

Obstructed catalytic converter brings down experimental airplane

A partial loss of engine power due to an obstructed catalytic converter, which most likely resulted from the pilot’s failure to properly repair or replace it after it was likely damaged during a previous incident. Contributing to the accident was the pilot’s failure to maintain adequate airspeed during the forced landing, which led to an exceedance of the airplane’s critical angle-of-attack and an aerodynamic stall.

A flight school only for tailwheel pilots

Todd Givens, owner of Ace Basin Aviation Academy at KRBW is an expert in tailwheel flying instruction. “I only train pilots who want an endorsement to fly tailwheel aircraft, plus pilots who are considering the purchase of a tailwheel aircraft, and finally students who want to earn their private pilot license in a tailwheel aircraft,” he explained.

Neighbors sue KBJC over noise, leaded fuel

The lawsuit notes there has been a “significant increase in flight operations at Colorado’s Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport. This increased traffic has led to “detrimental effects in the area, such as increased exposure to leaded fuel and decreased home values,” the lawsuit claims.
