The Biggest Little Air Show returns

2021 marked the eighth annual Biggest Little Air Show put on by the museum at San Carlos Airport (KSQL) and the event quickly sold out. Attendees and staff alike enjoyed the perfect weather and the flight performances without having to worry about masks and social distancing while outside.

Wildlife strikes down in 2020, mostly due to pandemic

The 33% drop in wildlife strikes in 2020 was “directly related” to a 37% drop in aircraft movements during the COVID-19 pandemic, according to a new report from the FAA and the U.S. Department of Agriculture.

An airplane for everyone

You don’t have to be rolling in discretionary income to be an airplane owner. It doesn’t hurt, of course. However, it’s not a prerequisite. If you can afford a motorcycle, or a boat, or a vacation timeshare, you can probably afford to own an airplane. Or a percentage of an airplane which, in all honesty, might be the even better deal for most of us.

Avionics sales top $1 billion in first half of 2021

That’s a 7.1% decrease in total sales compared to the first six months of 2020, according to the Aircraft Electronics Association’s Avionics Market Report. However, AEA officials note that the numbers are trending in a better direction now, with April, May and June 2021 sales increasing by 2.1% over the same time frame a year ago.
