General Aviation News Photographer Greg Menton sent in this photo with a note: “A bristling B-17G greeted early bird visitors to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2025 on Friday, July 18, as the warbirds area shaped up. The B-17, owned by the Experimental Aircraft Association, is an icon of the European air war during World War II.”

Flights of fun at the Cavalcade of Planes

A friendly fly-in with the action of an air show

Karyn King submitted this photo and note: “Karyn King took this photo at the Auburn, Washington, airport, during the Cascade Warbirds 2025 Fly Day of Dave Desmon’s Navion, with Mt. Rainier in the background. Dave took Captain Dick Nelms, 102 years old, a B-17 World War II pilot for a ride and Captain Dick piloted most of the flight! It was a great day to fly.”
Picture of the Day: Practicing for the Mooney Oshkosh caravan
David Wade submitted this photo and note: “Every year before the Mooney Caravan into EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, Mooney pilots get together at regional clinics to practice formation flying and familiarize new pilots with formation flying. Flying together in formation accelerates the arrivals into Oshkosh and is less chaotic than the usual Fisk arrival.”
