ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — John Uczekaj, president and CEO of Aspen Avionics, was awarded Aviation Entrepreneur of the Year by Living Legends of Aviation at its star-studded gala Jan. 18.
Aspen Avionics has received FAA STC approval for installation of the Avidyne DFC90 Digital Autopilot into Cessna 182s when interfaced with Aspen’s Evolution 1000 Pro Primary Flight Display (PFD).
Aspen Avionics had initiated a price reduction for the company’s Extended Product Warranty Program for Evolution Flight Display products. The program now provides two-year coverage for a small increase over the previous one-year program pricing, company officials said.

Aspen Avionics has received approval of an amendment to the Evolution Flight Display AML-STC authorizing autopilot nav coupling to the 1000 MFD while in reversion mode.
Aspen Avionics has received Technical Standard Order (TSO) approval of the Evolution Backup Display system. Now available for third party STC and OEM applications, the Evolution Backup Display is a fully digital, independent flight display system designed to replace mechanical backup instruments used in Part 23 EFIS installations.

Aspen Avionics unveiled at Sun ‘n Fun several upgrades to its Evolution Flight Display product line, including a flush mount kit that enables customers to mount the EFDs flush with their instrument panels. The kits will be available June 15. Price: $390.
