Denver-based Independence Aviation has opened a second satellite operation at Rocky Mountain Metropolitan Airport (BJC) in Colorado.
Signal Aviation Services, the primary general aviation service provider for the Lebanon Municipal Airport (LEB) in New Hampshire, has been purchased by long-time employees, Greg Soho and Jason Archambeault. Soho has been the company’s vice president since 1999 and Archambeault has served as director of maintenance since 2007. The FBO has a new name, Granite Air Center.
Baker Aviation Maintenance recently purchased AeroMech. As part of the agreement, Baker will now operate at two locations: Meacham International Airport (FTW) in Forth Worth, Texas, and Addison Airport (ADS), in Dallas.

Communities in Schools of Lexington/Davidson County in North Carolina and Fly High Lexington, the FBO at Davidson County Airport (EXX) will host the third annual Big Toy Day Saturday, Aug. 25, from 10 am to 2 pm. Designed as a fundraiser for 24 schools in the area, the event draws aviation enthusiasts and lovers of “Big Toys” from all over the region, FBO officials said.

Christiansen Aviation at Jones Riverside Airport (RVS) in Tulsa, Okla., celebrates a milestone this year — 40 years in business. According to a story in the Tulsa World, owner Bill Christiansen always wanted to be a pilot. The story quotes him: “Aviation gets in your blood. People have a passion for it.
