In a new Ted Talk posted on YouTube, Leah Ochs discusses the advantages of being a female in the male-dominated industry of aviation, and the relatively overlooked benefits of obtaining a pilot certificate as a young woman.
“Aside from the cool factor of being a pilot, the benefits of having a pilot’s license are limitless,” she says.
My daughter asked to learn to fly in high school. She figured it would help set her apart in getting into a top notch university. It did, and they gave here a scholarship too! She built upon that to become an engineer, and has now become a nurse. She has given herself the confidence to do whatever she wants.
