Wicks Aircraft Supply acquires Carlson Aircraft Extrusions

By General Aviation News Staff · February 15, 2024 ·

Wicks Aircraft Supply has acquired Carlson Aircraft Extrusions, becoming the sole distributor of Carlson extrusions, including wing struts, spars, and other specialty extrusions.

“This is an exciting time for our company,” said Scott Wick, president. “This acquisition allows us to expand our already large selection of items and further solidifies our prominent position in the general aviation industry.”

Wicks Aircraft Supply started its life as part of the Wicks Organ Company, which has been making pipe organs since 1900. Wicks made its initial mark on the aviation world by building a KR-2 in 74 days and flying it to Oshkosh in 1974 for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. The warm reception and attention company officials received led to the creation of Wicks Aircraft Supply, company officials said.

Looking for info for the Carlson Sport Special. Specifically, the fuel vent and/or fuel overflow lines for the 2 wing tanks and the tank located behind the engine.

Please post a small history of the Carlson company. I talked to whom guessed was Mrs Carlson many times. A mom and pop type shop that made America great. Always friendly and helpful.
