C-46 Tinker Belle finds new home

Testing continues on DeltaHawk engine

With FAA type certification of its new DHK180 piston engine complete, DeltaHawk Engines is moving towards production, with initial deliveries of customer engines planned for the first half of 2024, company officials reported on the opening day of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023. One of the first aircraft expected to offer the engine as an option is the four-place model from Bearhawk Aircraft.

Cirrus launches new private pilot training program

The new Private Pilot Program provides ground school training partnered with a Cirrus Standardized Instructor Pilot (CSIP) through a Cirrus Training Center (CTC) to help students complete their private pilot certificate in a Cirrus aircraft.

Kitfox seat cracks on takeoff

After further inspection upon shutdown, the seats themselves were cracked and were pressing onto the physical cables of the ailerons. The controls weren’t able to be moved without major physical input. The seats were written up for repair and we went home a bit shaken over the whole thing.
