Tuskegee Airmen fly into the 21st century
Isaiah Hand, a 20-year-old Aviation Science major at Tuskegee University, made history in August 2025 by earning his private pilot certificate at Moton Field — the first Tuskegee student in nearly 80 years to earn his wings under the relaunched four-year Aviation Science Degree Program. He follows the legacy of Tuskegee Airmen, who became the nation’s first Black military pilots in 1942.
National Air and Space Museum expanding Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center
This is the first major change to the center’s public areas since its opening in 2003, according to museum officials.
Beacon Air opens new FBO at KCOD
The FBO opened in the summer of 2025 operating out of an existing facility that was formerly occupied by a corporate flight department and an FBO at Yellowstone Regional Airport (KCOD) in Cody, Wyoming.
