NTSB updates accident investigation database
The National Transportation Safety Board has updated CAROL (Case Analysis and Reporting Online), the database for NTSB investigations, as well as aviation investigation search functions on NTSB.gov.
Textron Aviation enhances Caravan avionics
Starting in 2024, the Caravan and Grand Caravan EX, will offer the Garmin G1000 NXi, according to company officials. Avionics that will become standard include the GDL 60 datalink, the GTX 345DR diversity transponder, and the GI 275 electronic standby.

Researchers study near misses between airplanes and drones
Given that most close calls happen within 1.5 miles of a runway approach or departure zone, researchers recommend extending the runway exclusion zone for drones at the ends of high-risk runways from about 1 mile to 3.5 miles.
