Pilot apologetic after near miss in pattern

The pilot of Aircraft Y apologized multiple times and knew it was their fault. You could tell they really felt bad about the situation. They said they were trying to hurry for the base traffic and didn’t know we were taking the runway.

FAA becoming more flexible on pilot mental health

If the FAA puts up too many barriers for pilots wrestling with medical and mental health issues, it can backfire, according to Larsen. He noted a Journal of Occupational and Environmental Medicine study last year found that 56.1% of pilots reported avoiding health care for fear of being grounded.

Video captures first flight of Bataan after restoration

After eight years of restoration, the Lockheed C-121A Constellation N422NA made its first flight on June 20, 2023. Named “Bataan,” the Connie was used as a personal transport by General Douglas MacArthur during the Korean War.
