ASA updates Lesson Plans to Train Like You Fly

The fourth edition incorporates “critical information previously published in ‘Train Like You Fly: A Flight Instructor’s Guide to Scenario-Based Training,’ current best practices, and tried and true advice for teaching both visual and instrument flight, Aviation Supplies & Academics (ASA) officials said.

Volunteers improve safety at Oregon’s Rager Airstrip

Volunteers brought in a tractor and rotary mower to mow the airstrip, the turn-around areas at each end, the aircraft parking area, as well as clearing out about six feet of obstructions on each side of the airstrip, RAF officials reported.

Santa Clara glider replica takes place of honor in San Diego FBO

The original Santa Clara glider was designed by John J. Montgomery with two wings spanning over 25 feet each and its replica is on loan from the San Diego Air and Space Museum. Crownair Aviation is located at San Diego’s Executive Airport (KMYF), formerly named Montgomery Field after the glider’s designer.

First FAA-certified ALSIM SR20 simulator in the USA

Now that the simulator is certified by the FAA, students at All In Aviation in Nevada can count their training hours in the sim toward their private and commercial license or instrument rating.

Avionics sales up over 22%

The quarterly report offers mixed results, as the industry posted a lower dollar amount in sales when compared to the fourth quarter of last year, while at the same time reporting an increase in sales of more than 22% compared to the first three months of 2022.
