The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association Air Safety Institute (ASI) has released a new video in its Early Analysis series providing an initial examination of a tragic accident that happened July 17, 2022, when a Piper PA-46 Malibu and a Cessna 172 Skyhawk collided during landing at North Las Vegas Airport in Nevada.
Satcom tailored for general aviation introduced
The Iridium Certus 100 enables up to 88 kbps of bandwidth through SKYTRAC’s DLS-100 and Blue Sky Network’s SkyLink 7100 portable terminals, allowing pilots to communicate through voice and messaging while also enabling flight tracking and application updates, such as graphical and real-time weather alerts.

Continental gets the lead out
Continental has applied to the FAA to use unleaded aviation gasoline in more than 100 engine models, including select O-200s, IO-360s, O-470s, and IO-470s. As the industry searches for a long-term fuel solution, Continental considers 91UL and 94UL fuel as a transitional step in a long-term strategy to reach a more sustainable aviation, company officials said.
