While at Oshkosh, Tecnam also revealed the flight schools in the U.S. that will be the launch customers for the P-Mentor: Kilo Charlie Aviation in Kansas, Vermont Flight Academy, Melbourne Flight Training in Florida, and Stephen F. Austin State University in Texas.

The certification “validates the engine’s compliance with the FAA’s strict airworthiness and safety standards,” according to company officials.

California pilot recognized with Young Eagles leadership award
The award, given every year during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, recognizes “exceptional Young Eagles volunteers that have continually supported the future of aviation by exceeding expectations,” according to Phillips 66 Aviation officials.
Redbird Tracon updated
The company’s multi-simulator classroom management software enables instructors to control multiple simulator sessions simultaneously from one centralized interface. The update also allows two-way communication between instructors and students.

C-46 Tinker Belle finds new home
The city of Monroe, North Carolina, has sold its C-46, “The Tinker Belle,” to the non-profit Military Aviation Museum in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Testing continues on DeltaHawk engine
With FAA type certification of its new DHK180 piston engine complete, DeltaHawk Engines is moving towards production, with initial deliveries of customer engines planned for the first half of 2024, company officials reported on the opening day of EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2023. One of the first aircraft expected to offer the engine as an option is the four-place model from Bearhawk Aircraft.
